This ancient art form is making a comeback!
My encaustic artwork is created by painting molten encaustic paint (purified beeswax and resin) onto a surface of wood or glass. Then the fun begins! Using a blow torch or heat gun, I heat the wax to further manipulate it and fuse it to the layers beneath. Like the Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians almost 3,000 years ago… I paint with fire!
